Playing

How do I aim and shoot?

Drag anywhere on the table to turn the cue around the cue ball; slow drags turn it finely. You can also tap a ball to aim straight at it. To shoot, put your finger on the cue stick, pull it straight back, and let go. The further you pull, the harder the shot. Slide back toward the ball to cancel.

How do I fine-tune my aim?

While aiming, rest one thumb on the table and slide a second thumb sideways. The cue turns in tiny steps while "Fine aim" shows on screen.

How do I put spin on the ball?

Press and hold the cue ball until the spin picker opens, slide to where you want to hit it, and let go. Low is draw (the cue ball comes back), high is follow, and left or right is english.

Where's the scoreboard and settings?

Tap an empty part of the cloth. The info panel shows who's up, the rules being played, and switches for sound, vibration and table color. Tap the cloth again to hide it.

What are the rules? How do I call the 8?

Tap Rules on the main menu, or in the info panel during a game, for the rules of the game you're playing. With the "Call the 8" house rule on, tap the pocket you're aiming for before you shoot the 8; a gold ring marks it.

What's the difference between Casual and Official rules?

Casual is relaxed bar rules. Official adds calling the 8, a legal break (pocket a ball or drive four to a rail), and a break scratch puts the cue ball behind the line. Choose them under House rules on the main menu. Club members can mix individual rules.

How do trick shots and the opponents work?

Tap Practice for an open table or one of twenty trick shots. Make a trick shot on the first try for three stars; misses reset the balls for another go. Tap Play the computer to pick an opponent: beat the Rookie to unlock the Regular, then the Shark, then The Hustler.

Where are my achievements and leaderboards?

Tap Scores on the main menu. They're kept by Game Center, so you need to be signed in to Game Center (iPhone Settings → Game Center). Things you earn while signed out are sent the next time you sign in.

Online play

How do I play friends on other phones?

Tap Play online, choose a game, and invite friends through Game Center, or let it find players for you. Everyone needs to be signed in to Game Center (iPhone Settings → Game Center). 1 vs 1 is two phones, Doubles is four, and Cutthroat is three.

Can I change the name other players see?

Yes. Type a name on the Play online screen before you start a match. Otherwise your Game Center nickname is used.

A match didn't connect, or someone dropped out.

Check that everyone is online and signed in to Game Center, then try again. If a player leaves mid-game, the match ends for everyone. If it keeps happening, email us with the time and the type of game.

Corner Pocket Club

What does the Club include?

Nine-ball, hosting Doubles and Cutthroat online (friends you invite play free), mixing your own house rules, ten more trick shots, The Hustler as an opponent, and five table colors. It's a one-time purchase of $4.99 (US), shared with your family through Family Sharing.

I bought the Club but it isn't unlocked.

On the main menu, open Corner Pocket Club and tap Restore purchase. Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple Account you bought it with. If you're using Family Sharing, the purchaser needs to have "Share My Purchases" turned on.

How do I get a refund?

Purchases go through Apple, so refunds do too. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, and choose the purchase.

Something's not right

The game feels choppy.

Low Power Mode and a very low battery make iPhones slow down, so try again on a charged phone. If it's still choppy, email us your iPhone model and iOS version.

There's no sound.

Check the sound switch in the info panel (tap the cloth), and make sure your iPhone isn't in Silent mode. Corner Pocket plays along with your music rather than stopping it, so it follows the ring/silent switch.
